To Prove GEJ Is Doing Something Part II- JTF Rounds Up Some Random People in Borno State, Forces Them To Take Responsibility For Church Bombings.
The Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order in Borno State has paraded seven suspected persons in connection with the attack on EYN No1. in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, where three worshippers lost their lives with several others injured two weeks ago.
The suspects, Alhassan Inuwa, Ibrahim Mohammed Babangida, Magaji Bala, Nuhu Zakari, Dahiru Sa’adu, Mohammadu Nurah and Mohammed Sani told newsmen in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Thursday that they were butchers by profession at Biu market.
According to one of the suspects, Ibrahim Babangida, he was paid N7,500 to be engaged in the church attack.
The suspects, who hail from Jigawa and Katsina states, also said they were arrested individually at their respective residents in Biu by the security operatives of the task force.
Speaking to newsmen at the 21 Brigade in Maiduguri, JTF spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Sagir Musa, said the JTF alone could not succeed in such an operation without the support of the people.
Meanwhile, the JTF has alerted the people to alleged move by the Boko Haram sect members to use stolen vehicles for suicide bomb attacks in the state.
“Information available to the JTF in Maiduguri indicated that there has been desperate moves by Boko Haram sect members to steal/snatch vehicles to be used for terrorists’ activities by planting Improvised Explosive Devices in vehicles and/or through suicide bombing,” the JTF spokesman said.
