New Music + Review: D’Banj – Oyato
Personally I’m confused by D’Banj, or maybe he’s the one confused here. He left one of the best producers in Africa, Don Jazzy to pitch tent with Kanye West and his stable of musical geniuses.
Well, if this is the first result of that new alliance, D’Banj had better swallow his pride, get on his knees and beg Don Jazzy to take him back.
While this song might be a big hit in Nigeria, not quite sure how he’s going to break into the US market with this one. Then again, as I’ve said earlier, maybe I am the confused one and this song is for the domestic audience, and he now wants to show Don Jazzy that he can make it without him?
Either way, on it’s own merit, this song is not a bad one at all, and the fact that he’s brought back the harmonica just makes it even better.
Listen and enjoy…
BTW D’Banj, I hope you paid Darey a finder’s fee for jacking his style on the sleeve of this single
