Police in Lagos, South west Nigeria, on Monday paraded a staffer of new generation bank suspected to be involved in Automated Teller Machine (ATM) scam. He was one of the 19 suspected criminals paraded by the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspect identified as Oludare Oladodoyen, was also said to be a driver with Zenith Bank, had 19 GT Bank ATM cards in his possession. Also, the sum of N6.052m cash was recovered from him. He was arrested at the Ogba branch of GT bank where he had gone to make withdrawal with one of the cards.
The suspect, who claimed to be a money lender, said he collected the ATM cards as collateral from his clients he gave loans to.
The twist in his otherwise smooth tale was the fact that all the cards were those of GTB.
Oladodoyen was asked to explain how he got his clients, to the extent that all turned out to be GTB customers, but he could not. He further revealed that his financial worth was over N2million. He made his money by buying tricycles and going into transportation business, he said.
Recovered from some of the suspects were about 12 exotic cars, with Toyota models, topping the list.
